Vida Mejor Capital (VMC)
VMC is an emerging CDFI with early success in building partnerships and administering grants through New Mexico’s Healthy Food Finance Fund. These grants support the processing, aggregation, distribution, and sale of local, fresh, healthy food through emergent and expanded retail and institutional market channels in rural and underserved communities in New Mexico. Grant recipients include early-stage to growth-stage enterprises and established businesses.
The organization’s partnerships include reputable organizations such as the New Mexico Economic Development Department, USDA Rural Partners, and the New Mexico Minority Business Development, along with elected officials, trade associations, laboratories, and government agencies. Its ability to build high-profile partners quickly establishes its capacity to build a healthy, sustainable organization.
